“Loving it” Tunefruit Weekly Stock Music Playlist for September 8th

Tunefruit-The-Hotness

Welcome to this week’s edition of Tunefruit’s Loving It Stock Music Playlist! You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll be moderately entertained! Come one, come all, to this one-of-a-kind (and by that I mean weekly) event!

Taiko – Michikawa

When listening to this track I like to imagine two martial artists, whirling about a bamboo forest, back and forth in an artistic game of war. Like that scene in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. I’m clumsy enough to be a little more like the Kung Fu Panda myself, but this track helps me live the dream anyways. Let Chow Yun Fat handle the theatrics, I’ll just sit back and watch with a bowl of noodles.

Sweet Piano – Porrazzo

Sometimes I just like to get in touch with my more romantic side, and this track has it all. Love, despair, longing: if there was ever a musical representation of a Jane Austen novel, this is it, and much like Pride and Prejudice it’s full of contradictory yet complimentary emotions. She does want to love you Mr. Darcy, she just doesn’t know it yet.

Happy People – djroc

It’s time to party, and we’re kicking off this week’s playlist with a banger. It’s peppy, stylish, and reminds me of summer pool parties and spring break benders. Set up the DJ booth and grab your glowsticks, because we’re gonna dance all night.

Ancestors – Gregory Davis

I’m getting some crazy flashbacks you guys. Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal, The Neverending Story. What was it about the 80’s and weird fantasy movies with puppets? I mean, I’m not exactly opposed to seeing David Bowie in tights, and a ride on Falkor the Luckdragon would have been the coolest thing in the world, but that wolf thing from The Neverending Story still kinda freaks me out (Ah Gmork, ruining children’s sweet dreams since 1984).

Too Hot – Pete Hawkey

It’s a hot summer’s day down in Alabama, and the sweltering heat is matched only by these fiery riffs. The hound dogs are wailing more than this solitary slide guitar as a rusty old pickup pulls onto the dirt road. This here is true down-home southern music.
